SpringRiver Private Foundation Trust Website

What We Did
Going with the flow.
SpringRiver Private Foundation Trust is a family-owned non-profit created to “enable transformative experiences” in the New England area. With their focus being on the natural world and environmental concerns, their financial support is paramount to inspiring others to respect and care for this magical world around us.
Project Goals
Starting out with a branding project, the Julia Balfour team helped SpringRiver determine their foundation’s visual identity that was then continued into their website. Starting from scratch, we were able to create an online presence for SpringRiver that was demure yet impactful — just like their work.
Quiet, rich & a little grand
Design
Inspired by the Ottauquechee River in Vermont, SpringRiver’s name itself help determine the use of rich, yet calming blues, greens, and beiges for an overall nature feeling throughout the website. The fern drawing that sits prominently in their logo helped to inspired the use of different lines and leaf marks throughout the site – used in a decorative and content flow-directing manner. Photography of nature and the projects that their grants help themselves fold seamlessly into the color palette, while a refined and timeless serif complements the overall visual feel.

sharing is caring
Storytelling
It was important that visitors would be able to get a sense of the type of organizations that SpringRiver support, so Julia Balfour created a content block that could share multiple grant stories, featuring one at a time. Through impactful imagery and potent storytelling, the Featured Grants section of the homepage accomplishes this in a easy, visual way.
