Bluewater Millwork & Construction Website

What We Did
Build it and they will come.
It wouldn’t be the Connecticut River Valley without a Bluewater Millwork & Construction home. Known for their custom homes, flawless craftsmanship, and attention to detail, the crew at Bluewater Millwork (formerly Bogaert Construction) are the team to go to for your new custom build or renovation.
Project Goals
While this legacy company was going through a name change, Bruce at Bluewater came to Julia Balfour for a new website. Their current site at the time was dated and didn’t reflect the meticulous work that their name became known for. We helped the team create a website that let their projects shine while forming a visual presence that matched the elegant and refined work they were known for.

Design
Let the work shine — that was our motto for Bluewater’s website. Making sure the emphasis was on the photography of their houses, the design of the website was created to support the work. Featuring a neutral color palette of soft blacks and grays, thoughtful details, supporting material imagery, and refined typography rounded out the website visuals.

Bluewater’s Portfolio
What makes you hire a company to build your home? The overall experience of course, but first and foremost — their work. Arguably the most important part of the website, the portfolio section was incredibly important to feature. Making sure the images of each project were the highlight, the Julia Balfour team created a portfolio template that would let the photography do the talking. Each project immerses the user with stunning images of the properties, like paintings on a museum wall. The Our Work section also uses helpful category tags, enabling the section to be organized by project type — helpful to those who would like to see how Bluewater has handled a specific style or area.
